Assassins: Firenze

It is the year 1478 and for more than forty years, Florence, one of the largest and most important cities in Italy, has been under the rule of the Medici family. Lorenzo de Medici is a generous patron of the arts and is well liked by the common people as well. The city state might seem like peaceful centre of Italian humanism, yet underneath the kind smiles of the nobility rages a ruthless battle for power.

The first Mass of Easter Sunday is finishing and crowd has gathered in front on the Santa Maria del Fiore cathedral to see its monarch and his brother Giuliani. Suddenly, a scream erupts from the crowd and two hooded figures appear from the shadows. Before the guards have a chance to react, Giuliani lies on the cold stone steps of the cathedral in a pool of his blood. Lorenzo escapes wounded but he manages to hide in safety of the sacristy.

One of the assailants is none other than Francesco de Pazzi. On the very same day, the furious mob takes justice into their calloused hands, finds Francesco and beats him to death on the spot. His father, Jacopo de Pazzi, is thrown out of the window of their villa and dragged naked through the streets of Florence before his body is tossed into the river.

In the game Assassins Firenze, you become the hatchet man of one of two most prominent florentine families on the eve of the bloody event. Assassins work for the Pazzi family, Condottieri are the hired guards of the Medici family. The history is in your hands.
